Hi, I'm Matt Jones

When I was young, I spent my time making board games out of pieces of cardboard and video games with Scratch. Nowadays I prefer Unity and Unreal, and I'm always on the lookout for more ways to build games.

I started my path to professional game development in the Digital Worlds Institute at the University of Florida, where I learned modeling, animation, video production, and most importantly game design and production. I put together over a dozen projects as I honed my skills, and ended up being the guy to go to if you needed help with Unity.

I graduated in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, but that didn't deter me from pursuing greater knowledge. I applied to the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy that summer, and entered as a technical designer. FIEA taught me a huge amount about game development. I worked in teams large and small. I branched out to Unreal Engine 4 and started learning C++. Most importantly, I led a team of FIEAn designers to create Zenko: A Fox's Tale, my first publicly released game.

Outside of making games, I enjoy playing them, going hiking and camping, and though I rarely have time nowadays, piloting airplanes. In the end, however, game development is what I'm best at!
